Tiger lily?
I am doing research on this particular species of flower and wanted to know some characteristics.
When is the proper time to plant?
Do they survive all year long especially in the fall time?
When are they in full bloom?
Do they need alot of sunlight?
How much to water?
Thanks for any feed back!
Tiger lily?
Tiger lily is a common inhabitant of many older gardens throughout Texas and the South. It is reported to be a native of Korea, China, and Japan, where its bulbs have long been eaten for food. Its bright orange flowers speckled with dark spots are its easily recognized feature. The tiger lily begins growth in the spring, blooms in early summer, and then goes dormant for the fall and winter. It produces no seed but can be propagated by division during the fall or by planting the small bulbils (mini bulbs) that are produced in the axils of the leaves. These should be cared for as would other young seedlings.
All lilies prefer sun to part shade. Really hot sunny exposures often burn their foliage, while heavily shaded locations don%26#039;t provide enough sun for food production. Lilies tend to fall over in shady locations as well. As a rule, most lilies prefer good, well drained, organic soils with adequate moisture. Most garden soils can be amended with peat moss and sand to meet these needs.
The ones in my garden bloom June-July. When they finish blooming, they stay green for a while, then slowly die down to rest for the fall and winter. They come up again in the spring. I hace a patch that has been here undisturbed for maybe 50 years, and they get about 5-7%26#039; tall, depending on the rainfall we get in their growing season.
Reply:Tiger lily are easy to grow, plant in full sun to parcel shade,Yes they survive depends on your climate zone 7 come back every year. They bloom summer to fall.Just normal watering they can survive some neglect and dough but they won%26#039;t be as pretty.

Can I replant my Easter Lily?
It is dying now, but isn%26#039;t that a bulb? If I replant it, will it come up again next year? I have a brown thumb-help!
Can I replant my Easter Lily?
Yes, replant it at the same depth it was in the pot but make the whole you put it in twice as big as the pot it was in, fill in the hole with rcih soil that has lots of humus in it, set the plant in it the the right depth and fill in around it. Bulbs that are forced to make them bloom early may not bloom again the next will but after that they not only bloom but will multiply.
Reply:yes
Reply:Of course you can,yes it is a bulb that has done it%26#039;s bit ,bulbs are hardy,don%26#039;t let the brown thumb bit deter you in the least.the bulb will send up a shoot when the time %26amp; season is right, but a bloom will appear only next season.

Why does my peace lily not flower?
floered the first year I had it and not since.this is the 3 or 4th year now that it has not sone so. Its been repotted one in that time.
Why does my peace lily not flower?
obviously your not peaceful enough for it.
Just kidding.
I really don%26#039;t know, i have the total opposit to green fingers i kill every plant I have ever owned.
Reply:A good systemic fertilizer like osmocote will give your lily food each time it is watered. You can supplement with miracle grow all-purpose. It is a 15-30-15 which is fine for large areas but you want to concentrate on just one plant.
Use a fertilizer with a higher middle number, or phosphorous content, to encourage blooms. Peters Super Blossom Buster has a 10-50-10 mix of nutrients so will be best for blooms as the middle number is highest.
Also look at where your lily is--did you move it to a lower light situation? Finding the %26#039;happy spot%26#039; is important for good, consistant plant enjoyment.
;) gg
Reply:They%26#039;re quite greedy and need a lot of feed. Try Miracle Gro granules and a good quality potting compost.
Reply:peace lilys only flower when their roots are pot bound although you repotted it it will take time to flower again feed sparingly and alow the rootball to dry out before rewatering once a week is enough
give it a year and it should start to flower again
they also like shade don%26#039;t put it in bright sunlight
Reply:give it some fertilizer, and talk to it nicely.
Reply:Peace Lily plant is one of the few flowering plants that grows and blooms reliably indoors, flowers are most profuse in spring %26amp; summer. This grows best in high humidity conditions, in temperatures from 60-70 degrees F, indirect light, and porous soil. Keep away from sunny locations. Apply fertilizer at least once a month except in late autumn and winter. Keep your plant moist, but not soggy during these hot days of summer, but allow it to dry in winter months between waterings. So, look for a better location to put your plant, provide enough water and humidity and avoid direct sunlight. Apply fertilizer and hopefully your plant will reward you with flowers soon after.

I have an overgrown lily garden but they never bloom. How do I thin them out so they bloom?
They get a decent amount of sun, and every fall I cut them down with the lawnmower. They seem to come in thicker each year. I look in the spring and it seems overwhelming to thin them out. I need some advice. My wife loves lillies.
I have an overgrown lily garden but they never bloom. How do I thin them out so they bloom?
Lilies spread like crazy. I would wait to see if they do bloom at all, if they don%26#039;t, I would say you can move them anytime. Transplanting ones that are going to bloom, I would say wait, but yours aren%26#039;t so I would say you can do it now if you want.
You just need to dig up the bulbs and plant them in other places to thin them out. You can dig up some or all and spread them all over. Just make sure to keep them watered well, and hopefully you%26#039;ll have luck next year.
Also as you do dig them up, be careful not to damage the bulb, and I would just make sure they are healthy. It sounds as if they are, but you never know what you%26#039;ll find when you start digging.
Reply:Lillies, iris, and most bulb plants should be divided every 3 years, generally. If you want them to bulb next spring, simply dig up what you want to replant, move to the area that you want them in, and plant. However remember that Lillie%26#039;s like lots of sun, good drainage and lots of water in the late fall months of October and November will give you more blooms the next spring,
Reply:I have over 50 varieties and about 100 plants of hybrid daylilies and they really should be divide every three years to look their best. Just dig them out and replant smaller fans then give the rest away or plant another garden. Good luck getting them out.
Reply:Daylilies ? Just dig %26#039;em up any time up to mid-August. Divide them , thin them , %26amp; replant . Don%26#039;t mow them , until they turn yellow . Fertilizer ( bulb food, or rose food ) wouldn%26#039;t hurt , after replanting.
If it%26#039;s actual lilies ( bulbs) , above advice applies also, but especially the mowing part .
ps. It%26#039;s easier to dig up the whole clump , work on it , %26amp; put back what you%26#039;re keeping there , than to try to divide it in place , %26amp; take out pieces . Had to remind myself of that last week . ;D ( Doing a planting job with ones I bred myself - didn%26#039;t really want to dig whole thing(s) up just before blooming - had to though )

Reply:Pull out or dig out numerous plants throughout that area. Day lilies are HARDY bulb plants. This is probably the only plant that don%26#039;t appear to be affected by with time of year to fool with them. Ours multiply rapidly %26amp; each year I%26#039;m yanking out several to give away or throw away.
They reproduce with baby bulbs growing on the underground root system. So a few plants pulled out won%26#039;t be missed by next year.
Mowing in fall just %26#039;cleans up%26#039; the area.

Why did my agapanthus (lily of the nile) stop blooming?
Both of my agapanthus started to bloom really early this year, before anyone else around this area. Some of the buds bloomed, but about 90% of them turned into a hard green seedling looking thing. I opened it up to see what was inside and there were some thin black things. Is that seeds? My agapanthus%26#039; are getting full sun.
Why did my agapanthus (lily of the nile) stop blooming?
Your agapanthus have bloomed and are now setting seeds. The little black things in the hard green pods are seeds. If you leave the seedpods on the plants they will dry out and turn yellow and you can harvest the seeds and try and plant them next year.
They only bloom once a year and you are going to have to wait for next spring for them to bloom again.
I don%26#039;t know what zone you are in but my agapanthus do better is semi-shade.
Reply:You could try Miracle Grow or Bloom Booster. Maybe they are just hungry. How long have they been in the same locaion? Have they dried out too much? (aerate the soil, then feed, can%26#039;t hurt) Do you see other flower buds anywhere on them? Do they show signs of bugs eating them? Geez, I wasn%26#039;t much help.?.

Rate my story 1-10! Tell me whats good and tell me whats bad! 1-2 chapter!?
“CUT!” Jason, the director cried.
15 year old Lily Evans and her two co-stars, Lila Trace and Dan Borski, sighed.
When Lily had got the main role in the new movie, Lookout, seven months ago, she would have never have dreamed it would be this hard. If she did no more than blink at the wrong time, this was no doubt that Jason would notice and make them start over.
“Guys,” Jason said in a disappointed tone, “When people buy tickets to see my movie, they are expecting it seem real, not like a bunch of kids acting it out poorly. Start from the top, and please make it good this time.
Lily, Dan and Lila exchanged a three-way eye roll before starting the scene over….again.
“Aaaaaaand ACTION!”
“Marie, I’m sorry.” Dan acted. “Just listen to me-“
“No!” Lily screamed, forcing tears down her cheeks. “You have no idea how much you hurt me! Just- Just leave me alone.”
She waited for the end of Lila’s line, for that was her cue to walk off set, but it never came.
“Mike,” she started, pretending to tell off Dan “You are such a-“
Lila broke into a fit of giggles.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” she apologized to Jason, trying not to laugh, “It’s just-“
Making it even worse, Lily and Dan started cracking up because of Lila’s sudden burst of giggles and the raged look on Jason’s face.
“ENOUGH!” Jason screamed over the laughter, “Everyone take 5.”
Jason looked at the three stars still laughing uncontrollably and rephrased his statement.
“Make that 10.” He sighed cradling his head in his hands.
Wiping there eyes, Lily, Dan, and Lila walk over to the food cart.
“That was so funny.” Lily giggled, grabbing a handful of skittles. “Did you see Jason’s face?”
“I know,” Lila laughed back. “He has absolutely no sense of humor whatsoever.”
“But that’s why it’s so fun to get him mad,” Dan agreed, taking a swig of Dr. Pepper, “Remember that time when we put a whoopee cushion on his director’s chair?”
Lily laughed at the memory.
“Yeah, he was so mad, his face was priceless.” Lila smiled, “Good thing he never realized it was us.”
“Just think about what he’d do if he did find out,” Lily Pondered.
The three shuddered at the thought.
“Hey,” Dan said to Lily and Lila, “Lets go somewhere after work.”
“Yeah like…Chili’s or something?” Lila suggested.
“If we survived,” Lily rolled her eyes, as Jason yelled for them to get on set.
Dan smiled.
She looked into his baby blue eyes. Every time Lily did she found a scene of two people together. The girl had curly red and bright green eyes as Lily did. Like Dan, the tall boy had jet black hair and blue eyes. This time, the girl was being given a piggyback by the boy, in a calm and serene field of flowers. The girl was laughing as she was put down by the boy. She seemed so carefree, happy and safe as the boy put his hands with hers. He tucked her hair behind her ear. There lips meet. Lily smiled.
“Uh, Lily?” Dan laughed as he waved his hands in front of her face, “Are you there?”
She was suddenly thrown out of the field of flowers and into the studio.
“Oh sorry, just thinking,” Lily’s face grew hot as she twisted her ____ ring as an excuse not to look up. How long had she been standing there with that blank, goofy grin on her face? That was what the problem about staring at Dan’s eyes. They filled her with a warm feeling as she did, but after, she ended up feeling like an idiot. But they were so tempting to look at…
“Wrong. You where doing something, but you defiantly weren’t thinking.” he said imitating her face, putting on a dumb grin, and Lila laughed.
She winced. Had she really looked that stupid?
“Shut up.” Lily said half annoyed-half amused. Dan had a way with words. As a result, things that he did or said wouldn’t have been as funny if someone else had.
“Anyway,” he said changing subjects, “Guys, meet me at my car at around 6. Don’t worry you’ll have plenty of time to do you hair, Lila,” he added.
Lily laughed, because everyone who knew Lila, knew she took forever to do her hair. For Lily, it took about 5 minutes and Lila didn’t know how she did it.
“But I don’t understand how it looks so good! You don’t do anything with it!” she always said after they got out of the dressing room after work.
“Well anyway,” Dan said, “Let’s get going, before Jason kills us.”
“One sec,” Lila said, “You go. I need to ask Lily something.”
Once Dan was out of sight, Lila said in a sing-song voice, “Looks like someone has a crush on Dan Borski!”
“I do not!” Lily lied, hoping she sound convincing, “He’s just a friend. You know that.”
“Okaaaayy” Lila said once again in her sing-song voice, obviously not believing her.
They walked over to the set, and Lily couldn’t help but to think of her conversation with Lila.
“Looks like someone has a crush on Dan Borski!”
“I do not!”
But that wasn’t the truth. Not even close.
Dan and Lily stood by Dan’s car at exactly 6:00, waiting for Lila.
“Well, this is strange, Lila’s late!” Lily said sarcastically checking her watch, “This isn’t like her at all.”
This was a joke of course; Lila was always late, for everything.
Dan laughed. “Yeah probably working on her hair, as I predicted.”
The conversation became awkward after that. Lily, who usually had a lot to say, kept quiet.
“What if I say something, and he thinks I’m weird?” Lily thought frightfully to herself.
Half of Lily knew that that would never happen. Dan just wasn’t that kind of person. But her other half told her to be cautious. That part overpowered the other.
“Oh look, there’s Lila.” Said Lily, relieved.
“Sorry I’m late guys,” said Lila running over, “I was just-“
“Fixing your hair?” Lily finished, innocently.
Dan laughed.
“Ha. Ha. You’re funny,” Lila said opening the car door.
“I know,” Lily said getting in the front seat with Dan, “What can I say?”
Lily Turned on the radio and Me Love By: Sean Kingston filled the car with sound.
“Oh, my favorite song!” said Lila and Dan at the same time. Although, Lila sounded genuine and Dan’s words were dripping with sarcasm. Lily laughed.
Rolling down the window, Lily let the sun-kissed air hit her face and started singing.
“Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, ohhh, why’d you have to go-oo away from hoooome, Me love.”
Lila joined in the next verse swaying her hands in the air. All Dan did was roll his eyes.
“Come on guys,” Dan begged, “You’re embarrassing me!”
“You? Embarrassed?” Lila snorted, “Sure!”
Lily laughed too. He never got embarrassed. One time the two girls dared him to sit on the bench at the park where a couple was sitting. Not only did he do that, but he added a “Can you scoot over? I’m squished!” Out of all the traits of Dan she admired, she probably admired his ‘Nothing can embarrass me!’ attitude the most. This was probably because that skill was something she didn’t have. Whenever someone came over and gave her a compliment, she would blush ferociously.
“Come on! Sing along!” Lily teased Dan, slapping him playfully.
“Uh, no thanks,” Dan said punching her arm lightly. Lily felt a shock go up her arm and into her heart, when his skin touched hers.
When they got to Chili’s heads turned, people whispered. As much as Lily hated it, she just smiled at them politely, mostly to hide her annoyed face. This happened all the time, and Lily had learned how to ignore it. But really, she was just a person going to dinner with some friends. Not an exhibit at the zoo.
“Table for three?” asked the waitress. They all smiled and nodded. Lily was glad she was treating them like normal people- instead of pleading for an autograph.
“Here you go,” said the waitress pointing at the table, and the three sat down.
Even though Lily had never talked to the waitress in her life, she could tell she was a nice person. A person that didn’t care about what a person was on the outside, but on the inside.
“So,” Lila started, “Surprisingly enough, I wasn’t late because I was working on my hair, I was on my cell. And you’ll never guess who called!”
“Who?” Lily and Dan said together.
“Cody Lanoka!” she squealed.
“Ohmygod! Why?” Lily squealed back.
Cody Lanoka, was one of the ‘heart-throbs’ listed in Teen-People magazine. He listed number 5, and boy, was he hot.
“Well,” she said leaning towards Dan and Lily, “He’s throwing a party on next Saturday and…. He wants us to come! From what others have heard, it’s going to be the hottest party of the year.”
The two girls squealed.
“Why didn’t you tell me this before?” Lily giggled.
“I just need the right time to say it,” Lila answered, “Plus with that hair comment, I thought you deserved it.”
Lily laughed and the waitress handed them their food.
“Where is it?” Dan asked.
“Oh, I’m not sure yet, but he said you needed at date, or you can’t come.” Lila sighed, “That will stink if I can’t find one.”
Lily sighed too. She was sort of ‘boy shy’. She barely talked to guys, let alone ask one on a date! She looked over at Dan. Anyway, the one guy she would even think of asking would say no. He wasn’t interested in her.

Help me name my new baby sister!?
My parents are expecting a baby girl and they want me to name her! I%26#039;m so excited! Should I name her...
-something pretty and picturesque, like Summer, April, Dawn, or Aurora.
-a flowery-nature name like Daisy, Laurel, Lily or Ivy.
-something Christian, like Grace, Delilah, Faith, Victoria, Naomi, or Phoebe. (I%26#039;m not a Christian, but I like their names.)
Or, I could name her after my grandma Kate, who passed away two years ago. But I%26#039;d spell it differently, like Cate or Cait or Kait, or maybe even Katelyn, Caitlyn, or Kaitlynn.
Oh, so many beautiful names out there! What does the Yahoo!Answers community think?
Help me name my new baby sister!?
I think Aurora Cate is a beautiful name. Look for meanings you like though. try babynames.com and don%26#039;t pick something at random, the little girl has to live with the name forever. Oh and please don%26#039;t use a Christian name, if you arent Christian, or the child won%26#039;t be raised Christian. There is nothing worse than an Atheist named %26quot;Christopher%26quot; (it literally means Christian) Good luck, and have fun!

Reply:I found some names the other day from my searching about the TV show Fallen. Since its about Angels I started to look up things about them and story%26#039;s from different country%26#039;s it was a good search well I found a few girl and boy names since its a girl I can share the names with you.
Sariel
%26quot;Taught the motion of the moon.%26quot;
Tamiel
%26quot;Taught astronomy.%26quot;
What is below them is what the Angel did as a job. I liked how they sound in a way I would tweak them a bit to make them look better in spelling but some of the names already have been if you look at them take Tamiel it kind of looks like Tammy in a way or Sariel looks like two different names Sara being one and Ariel being the other. Well I liked them a bit and thought someone else will. I would also suggest to you something I was going to do but never really worked for my family. take all your first names (yours , your moms and dads) and see what you can make out of them and it will be a very personal name for its of all of you. I was going to do it but my name and my just never worked with anything I could come up with. So I settled on Alexia but then my husband changed it to Alexis on me when I was sick in the hospital after I had my daughter. So make the name something that is personal to you all or a name you like from someone in your familys past, or history, and even looking up names by the meaning. Its a big deal that you are doing this feel proud that you are.

New Harry Potter question.Don't you find it odd that..?
If harry was born in1980(lily and james died in1981) that means everyting in the 7th book happens in1997.And if the epilogue show them 19 years later that would be...2016.
New Harry Potter question.Don%26#039;t you find it odd that..?
She did originally intend to write in %26#039;real-time%26#039;, but since it took quite a bit longer than a year for each book to be written and the real-time thing messed up anyhow, I guess it no longer matters so much to add an epilogue set in the future.
Reply:Well, in the book and movies, the magical world is different than our world. They already have flying cars, so whatever they come up with for our world will be fine.

Brand new poem, what do you think?
Sorry, I think my conscience must%26#039;ve got lost on the way,
maybe it decided to call in sick today.
Whipe the blood on my jeans, paste on a smile,
I hope I can keep going for one last mile.
I won the battle, but he lost the fight
A siren starts sounding to my right.
Grip the wheel a little tighter, my knuckles red,
repeat the very last words that he said.
%26quot;At home I%26#039;ve got children, a daughter and wife.
My lily of the valley, the love of my life.
You%26#039;ve gotta know how I feel, with a brood of your own,%26quot;
But I shook my head, said %26quot;I live all alone%26quot;.
%26quot;Every night I lay down, and cry silver tears,
I killed my wife and kids, its been so many years.%26quot;
He didn%26#039;t beg for his life, but he didn%26#039;t ask for more,
so i pulled over the car, and opened the door.
He may be in bad shape, but he%26#039;ll come home tonight,
he%26#039;s gotta be there, to kiss his kid, and turn out the light.
He%26#039;ll curl up in bed, his heartbeat so weak,
but he%26#039;ll curl up with his wife, lay a kiss on her cheek.

Why is my 2 year old beagle peeing in my apartment and bed?
My boyfriend and I just moved in together in a new apartment. My beagle (Lily) is housetrained and was doing fine when we first moved in. The last 2 days she has been peeing in the house and peed on our bed last night on my brand new comforter, on my side of the bed!! She was banished from our room last night and knew that she was in trouble. Today when my boyfriend left the apartment she peed right in front of him on the carpet when she had a potty pad 1 foot away. What%26#039;s up with my dog?
Why is my 2 year old beagle peeing in my apartment and bed?
sound like she is jealous or feels her %26quot;territory%26quot; is being violated by the BF....changes in environment can cause changes in behavior
Reply:I don%26#039;t know if it is the same with dogs, but when my cat started peeing out of his box the vet told me this is a good indicator of diabetes. Is the dog drinking more water??? That was another indicator.

Question for all you who just got the new Harry Potter book (7th) or are planning too?
Hi, my name is Dax. Just wanted to know why 19 years after the events in the book:Ron has married Hermione, their two children are named Rose and Hugo.Harry has married Ginny, their three children are named Lily, James, and Albus Severus.Draco Malfoy has a son named Scorpius.The epilogue shows all of the children boarding the train for Hogwarts together.The final lines of the book are: %26quot;The scar had not pained Harry for 18 years. All was well.%26quot;
Burbage dies on pg. 12
Hedwig dies on pg. 56
Mad-Eye dies on pg. 78
Scrimgeour dies on pg. 159

Fred Weasley dies on pg. 637
Harry gets ****** up by Voldemort on pg. 704
comes back to life on pg. 724
Tonks, Lupin, and Colin Creevy have their deaths confirmed on pg. 743
Question for all you who just got the new Harry Potter book (7th) or are planning too?
first off its 19 years, buddy.
all was well, yes. it all was well. those people died in the most noble ways anyone could die.
why wouldn%26#039;t all be well?
The names of Harry%26#039;s children are significant. James (his father). Lily (his mother) and Albus Severus (Albus for Dumbeldore and Severus for Snape).
okay, so people died. of course people died that were important and innocent and it was all very sad. they risked their lives for Harry, and especially for Tonks and Lupin, they%26#039;d rather die than see their child grow up in a world where Lord Voldemort ruled Hogwarts and all magic.
it was all symbolic and genius.
Reply:Where%26#039;s the question in this?
All I see is a spoiler.
Reply:Well that is sick, good thing I finished it then. oh and by the way I love how you described pg 704 I thought it fit perfectly annd made me laugh a little.
Reply:It was just showing that they all had grown up and had kids....and that they were happy and still good friends.

Reply:hey how about warning that this is a spoiler? I%26#039;m glad I read the book before going online...some people actually want to read it themselves!
Reply:i just got it. i cant wait to read it.

Hello-- i am planning on moving to new york and being on broadway when I graduate from high school. questions!
it is so difficult to make it on to Broadway in New York City. There are so many people aspiring with the same dream as you. It will not be easy... close to impossible! You need to know that it is a difficult field to break into. The number of unemployed music theater seekers in the city is unbelievable. The joke in NY is that we are fortunate for all these music theaterites! They keep the restaurants in service as waitresses and busboys!
The competition is fierce and agents are practically useless. They will find auditions for you, but they also find auditions for everyone else. One agent will represent many artists. However when they find an audition they will let their entire roster know. They play no favorites because whomever gets the gig, the agent gets paid. So therefore they%26#039;ll send their entire roster in. And these auditions are not for major roles! These are for small roles, not even individual roles - these roles are stand ins, chorus, company dancers. One audition will attract 200 to 300 auditionees of which 1 person will be chosen... maybe... if they don%26#039;t like anyone they don%26#039;t call anyone back.
It%26#039;s not your looks. Its whether you can do everything they want! That includes singing, dancing and acting. However if you don%26#039;t attend school for music theater to train in these areas, you stand absolutely no chance. Having community theater and dance experience is good but, not enough. People goto college and train for this profession, of which many never ever get placed in a company or ever sing a role outside of University. You need to realize that this is not a career field. This is a pipe dream and for 95% of people out there who want this, it will always be. I know so many people in NY who are trying to do this and supplement their income by working menial part time jobs that barely pays. It is expensive to live in NY - Rent, food, utilities.... so many like you live paycheck to paycheck. You work so much you have little time to practice your skills. However, living paycheck to paycheck is no way to live! I know some who couldn%26#039;t cover rent and had to move out and live with others for months at a time. It is definitely a hard life. And all this for a dream. I have friends who are very talented! Very gifted but for every one who is gifted, there are those are just better than you. This is reality.
The best roles - leading roles are signed to top names... Jason Alexander (George on Seinfeld) trained in music theater as a child, has dance training and he lands one of the lead roles in The Producers! This is a man who didn%26#039;t use his music theater skills for over 20 years but they gave him the role because of who he is.
This is reality, it is the truth. If you are banking on this field I would think of something else. You need to have a post secondary education in this area but even with that, your chances are slim. And do you really want to live paycheck to paycheck?????
Edit:
Well if you know that you already can make it, then why are you asking us. Yes, have a dream but understand reality! It is not an easy world. You say you can live paycheck to paycheck now... we%26#039;ll see about that when you actually have to do that! Try to rehearse on your own, learn lines, practice everything you need for an audition when you have to work two or three jobs to pay for your rent, utilities and food. Its not easy, but you think it is.
You obviously don%26#039;t know the statistics of getting hired in New York. I%26#039;m not telling you to not do this... I%26#039;m just warning you of the hardships of it, but it seems to me that you think that you will be one of the millions who have this dream and will make it. Yes, you might actually do it... yes, you may make it with out school... but what do you do after the career. After 10 years what do you do? No education, means you can%26#039;t teach. No education means you can%26#039;t have a decent job. Music Theater careers don%26#039;t last long! You could be on stage, break a leg and be out for 3 months - they%26#039;ll replace you and you%26#039;ll be back to looking for auditions. You need a back up plan and most importantly, you need to go to school. At least you have credentials afterwards. You are no different than a million others that have this dream....
I%26#039;ve seen it all! Say they can live pay check to pay check, they think they have the whole thing figured out, they think that they can room with others and find security in that. Listen - maybe you are right... maybe I%26#039;m wrong.... but chances are I%26#039;m not. I have so many friends in NY who have this dream. Some with school, some with out. All with tons of theater experience... but all struggling to survive in the Big Apple.
Doesn%26#039;t matter who did what and made it.... you cannot count yourself amongst that group until you do. The group you belong to will be those with dreams, fighting for a chance to sing or dance on a stage and fighting to make enough money to survive.

I have been a music director, and have taught people your age, since 1971. You may be VERY enthusiastic - but you are also naive. As other people have told you, EVEN IF you have a lots of talent, you will need a MINIMUM of a degree from a very respected theater program to even get a LOOK at an audition. Times have sure changed form people thinking they cold be *discovered* because they were so perky!!! If you go to NYU - which has a graduate in EVERY SINGLE SHOW running on Broadway - it will cost you over $200,000. Then you have NO guarantee of getting into a show - because there are hundreds and hundreds of even MORE qualified people at the same audition. Just because YOU think you are cute and talented - and some people in your home town might agree - this does not mean you are ready for New York. I ought to know - I live and work here, and have been full-time employed in the music business since 1971.
You need a Plan B - and C, and D, and E - no matter how much you WANT something, that does not mean it comes to you. This is NOT what you wanted to hear - sorry! - but it is the truth.

Can someone help me answer this math problem?!!?
I know it%26#039;s so simple that I can%26#039;t figure it out. Please find out the answer and tell me HOW you got it!
Here%26#039;s the problem:
Lily and Mary took turns feeding the cat. During the first 60 days of the year, Lily feed the cat 3/5 of the time. How many days did Mary feed the cat during this period?
-
Please help me! I gotta major test tommorow on this and much more!
Thanx
Can someone help me answer this math problem?!!?
If Lily fed the cat 3/5 of the time then Mary fed the cat 2/5 of the time.
2/5 * 60/1 = 24 days
In this case, each 1/5 = 12 days.
60-36 = 24 for Mary
An easier way is to just take 2/5 of 60, because if Lily feeds the cat 3/5 of the time then Mary feeds the cat the other 2/5 of the time.
Reply:If Lily feeds the cat 3/5 of the time, then Mary must feed the cat 2/5 of the time. The time is 60 days:
so how many days does mary feed the cat: (2/5)(60 days) = 24 days
Reply:3/5 times 100 gives % of time Lily fed cat=60%
Mary fed the cat 40 % of the time
Since 60% +40%= 100 %
Reply:because you have an whole fith and if you subtract this so your answer should be two fiths
Reply:Well, first you take 60 and divide it by 5! That gets you 12 for each fifth of the 60 days... if that maked sense. Then you muliply 12 by three to get the 3/5 of the 60 days (36). Now, take that answer and subtract it from 60. You get 24, right?, and so %26quot;Mary feed the cats 24 days%26quot;! Did I help?

Could you give me some characteristics of a Torch Lily plant?
I planted seeds years ago and 2-3 bloomed once. I moved what I thought were %26#039;Torch Lilies%26#039; or %26#039;Red Hot Poker%26#039; from this spot in the shade and have been nurturing them ,but now I%26#039;m seeing the grass like plant all over my yard with the grass. How can I tell what i have is the Torch Lilly? I%26#039;ve checked the net, but none give good pics of the leaves.
Could you give me some characteristics of a Torch Lily plant?
Easy to grow and live with, a dozen grass look-alikes
produce clumps of narrow, grass-like foliage. Most, in fact, are sturdy iris and lily relatives, making them as easy to grow as they are easy to live with.
Leaves come in all shades of green--also bronze and green-and-white striped. Some kinds are soft textured and drape gracefully; others, with stiffer blades, give crisp lines to mixed plantings. Six of the 12 also provide colorful blossoms that last well in cut-flower arrangements.
Use any of these perennials singly or in groups to add strappy-leafed texture to flower beds, shrub borders, and rock gardens. For punctuation, cluster three to five in a carpet of low-growing ground cover--or line them up to soften edges of walkways. Many also tuck attractively into rocks around pools or ponds.
All can be propagated by division. In fall or spring, lift well-filled clumps, break or cut sections apart, and replant.
you may find good pics of the leaves in this web http://www.flowersofindia.net/catalog/sl...
Reply:Kniphofia uvaria is also known as Torch Lily or Red Hot Poker due to the shape and color of its inflorescence. The leaves are reminiscent of a lily, and the flowerhead can reach up to 5 feet in height. There are many varieties of torch lily, and they bloom at different times during the growing season. The flowers are red, orange, and yellow.
It originates from South Africa, and was introduced into the U.S. as a garden plant. It is hardy in zones 5-10.

I have a peace lily with browning tips, and no flowers.?
I have had this plant for over a year in the same pot, location, watering schedule. It has blossomed twice, but now it has been awhile since any new flowers. It continually grows new leaves from the center, but the outer leaves are browning and curling on the ends. This plant has sentimental value, and I really would like to fix it! Does it need a new pot...too much water??
I have a peace lily with browning tips, and no flowers.?
Remove the outer leaves. They are old and ready to be cut off. The plant needs a new pot. Make it just the next size up.
Taking the lily outside and just letting water run through it would make it happy too. Or put it in the shower, but then you have to clean the shower.
Reply:you can tell if your plant needs to be repotted by looking at the holes are roots growing out of it ,then yes if no roots are visible do not transplant usually brown leaves mean over or under watering try cutting the brown leaves off at a diagonal cut to encourage new growth sometimes when a plant gets new leaves the bottom leaves tend to turn brown or yellow if your plant does need to be re potted only go 2 inches in pot size the bigger the pot the more water you will add eventually this will cause root rot
Reply:lilies are great plants and easy to keep with a few requirements
1. you must water consistently
2. you must repot it
3. cut off the dead leaves
4. give it some plant food
5. give it some warmth and sun shine.
the main key for flowers is sun shine.
peacelilies bloom whenever they feel like it, so it may bloom in the summer. most like to bloom in the winter, but they never go dormat

How to grow more of my alstroemeria (Peruvian Lily)?
We have a planter area that%26#039;s growing alstroemeria very well. It looks beautiful. We%26#039;ve had it growing there for 3 years now, and it comes back year after year, with blooms in spring. We%26#039;re in the LA area (zone 9) and the flowers are blooming now (daytime highs are in the 60%26#039;s, nighttime lows are in the 50%26#039;s).
I%26#039;d love to plant more of this beautiful flower in other places around our yard. Is there a way I can do it using my existing plants that are happily growing like crazy? Or do I have to buy new plants from the nursery?
Thanks so much.

mari
How to grow more of my alstroemeria (Peruvian Lily)?
Hi Mari,
You can divide your Alstroemeria and split it up and replant where you like. The only drawback is that Alstroemeria%26#039;s do not like to be moved once they are in a spot they like. They take a couple of years to establish themselves.
They grow by putting out underground rhizomes. If you dig up your clump, they will start to split apart. Just take the sections apart and replant in the new area. Just know that it will take time for them to get established and the original plant to re-establish.
So, the choice is up to you....do you want to wait for the original to re-establish? If not, then get new ones. If you don%26#039;t mind, just dig it up and divide it.
Hope this helps!! Happy Gardening. :)

I%26#039;d love to plant more of this beautiful flower in other places around our yard. Is there a way I can do it using my existing plants that are happily growing like crazy? Or do I have to buy new plants from the nursery?
Thanks so much.

Lily pollen on carpet- please help!?
My very beautiful but very mishevious two year old daughter has managed to drop pollen from my Lilys onto my carpet. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can remove it?
It is a new carpet and it is slightly rubbed in...any help will be gratefully received.
X
Lily pollen on carpet- please help!?
Oooohhhhh. Lily pollen is dreadful to remove.
Start by using sellotape or a lint roller and dabbing it on. This will catch any loose pollen that hasn%26#039;t been rubbed in. Then get a good carpet foam cleaner like 1001. Just use the foam because if it%26#039;s too wet and you rub it you will spread the stain. The foam crystalises and when it%26#039;s dry you can hoover it.
Hope it works for you. Good Luck. x
Reply:try selotape sticky side down DONT rub/ try at least several times before anything els good luck the little tinker eric john
Reply:Rub the area with styrofoam from packaging - the styrofoam makes the pollen leap to it, as it%26#039;s electrically charged.
Reply:USUALLY THIS CLEANER CALLED RESOVE WORKS. IF ITS A TOUGH STAIN YOULL HAVE TO LET IT SET A MINUTE. BUT, I HAVE FOUND IT TO BE VERY EFFECTIVE.
Reply:I once had Lily Pollen on the carpet; very enjoyable!
Reply:Lily pollen is a pain to get rid of!
Use sellotape, make sure it doesn%26#039;t get rubbed in.
Then use a quality carpet cleaner
Sorry not much help but....
To stop this happening again cut the stamens off. it doesn%26#039;t make the flowers look any less beautiful but solves the problem ever happening again

Tough progressions question..dare to answer??
lily, chary and leslie are friends. Lily works in a company with a starting pay of $2000 per month. Chary is a sales executive whose income depends solely on the commission she receives. she earns a commission of $1000 for the 1st month and this commission increases by $100 for each subsequent month. on the other hand, leslie decides to go into business. she opens a cafe and makes a profit of $100 in the 1st month. for the 1st year, her profit in each subsequent month is 50% more than that of the previous month.
in the 2nd year, Lily receives a 10% increment in his monthly pay. on the other hand, the commission received by chary is increased by $50 for each subsequent month. in addition, the profit made by leslie is reduced by 10% for each subsequent month.
(a)how much does each of them receive at the end of the 1st year?(2 methods please)
(b) what is the percentage change in their total income for the 2nd year compared to the 1st year? (comment on the answer)
Tough progressions question..dare to answer??
What a long question...
Try to make a table or chart showing the income of each person; then, you can easily compare them.
=)
Reply:Year 1:
Lily: 12 x 2000 = $24000
Chary: 12 x 1000 + 100 x (11 * 12)/2 = $18600
Leslie: 100 * [(1.5^12 - 1)/.5] = $25749 (this is an %26quot;annuity%26quot; formula)
Year 2:
Lily: 12 x 2200 = $26400; +10% over year 1 as expected.
Chary: my assumption is that the new increase is $50 rather than the $100 from year 1, so
12 x 2100 (her level from December of yr 1) + 50 *(12*13/2) = $29100; +56.45% over year 1
Leslie: Jan year 2 profit * [(.9^12 -1)/-.1] = .9 * (100*1.5^11) * formula = $55,861; +116.9% over year 1
Compounding effect of first year profit carries through for Leslie despite reeduction of year 2.
Similarly, Chary%26#039;s compounding commission increases over year 1 enhanced year 2 in spite of the commission reduction by $50/mo.

I just posted a new story and you all will love it!!! I want to be famous!! It's rather long but you'll like!
Instead of being surrounded by houses, we were surrounded by tall buildings, heavy traffic, and clusters of socializing people. The traffic made if difficult for us to cross the street, but we managed.
We arrived at an isolated building. Surrounded by tables and a playground where small children played. Aiyana opened the door. I covered my ears to block them from the cacophony of shouting and chattering from the large crowd that nearly filled the whole restaurant.
“Don%26#039;t worry about the noise!” Aiyana shouted. “This place is always busy! Let%26#039;s just get some food and chat for a while.”
I took a seat near the counter. Aiyana pulled out a ticket from a red box that stood next to me.
Geez, How does this girl deal with this?
I shrugged my shoulders. Aiyana sat down on the bench on my left.
“Why are we here Aiyana?” I asked.
“I’m hungry,” she answered. “And this place is perfect for us to chat.”
With all this noise? This girl is crazy.
“You’re hungry,” I rolled my eyes.
We sat at the milk bar for thirty minutes and the whole building became noisier and crowded. A red-haired young woman in a maid’s dress stood in front of us.
“Can I help you?” she said.
“May I have the cinapple shake?” said Aiyana
“Anything else?”
“Would you like something, Lily?”
“No thank you.”
I want the vanilla milk with yellow cake please!
“Also the vanilla milk and small yellow cake.”
“One Silver is your total.”
Aiyana reached for her purse and pulled out a silver coin and handed it to the woman.
“Um, hun?” said the red haired woman. “We don’t allow pets in the restaurant.”
Who is she calling a pet? Isis hissed.
“Sorry Isis,” said Aiyana. “You gotta go.”
Oh well, I have things to do anyway. Just don’t forget my food. The black cat leaped of Aiyana’s lap and slithered out the door.
Now that Isis was gone, I thought it would be a good time to talk to Aiyana. I’m still curious to know why she wanted to help. I was cruel to her. I killed her mother. The hatred I sensed from her disappeared. All of a sudden she was so calm. I also sense a small amount of fear from her. After ten minutes the milk bar became quieter.
“Um…Lily?” said Aiyana. “Can I ask you something?”
“What is it?”
“Well, remember when… uh…” She turned away fidgeting her fingers.
I watched her, waiting for her to say something. She looked up at me again.
“Well, when we found out why you were wanted, did you remember it? Do you really have amnesia?”
I faced forward. Thinking back to this morning made me cringe. I didn’t want to think about that right now.
“I did remember that day, where I killed all those people,” I said. “But I didn’t until the moment after we were discussing the newspaper. I’m sorry about your mother Aiyana.”
“Oh…uh it’s okay,” said Aiyana, who smiled at me.
“I wanted to ask you something too Aiyana.” I said. “Do you mind?”
“Oh no Lily,” said Aiyana. “Go on ask.”
“I hope I don%26#039;t come across as rude,” I turned away from Aiyana. “Why do you talk to me?”
“Excuse me?”
“Are you not angry at me for killing your mother?”
“Wel...yeah, a little.”
“You could have sided with the police back there. Why didn%26#039;t you?”
“Because...” Looking down at the counter, Aiyana nibbled her thumb.
“I felt so much hatred from you. You despised me. Why not now? Why are you being nice to me?”
“Because..well...you%26#039;re my friend.”
“That is not a good reason.” I said.
“Let me finish!” She shouted. The people around us stared at her.
“Forgive me, Aiyana,” I said. “I%26#039;m just curious.”
“It%26#039;s alright,” she said. “You%26#039;re Lily Rosewood, right?”
“I am.”
“We%26#039;ve met a few years ago.” said Aiyana, looking up at the ceiling. “We played together. I remember you always being alone. But That%26#039;s all I can remember about you.”
“I see.” Always alone? I always felt that way.
“It%26#039;s nice to see you again,” said Aiyana. “I also remembered that you called my %26#039;Aya%26#039;.”
I smiled at her.
“But when you killed my mum, I knew it was an accident. Yeah, I was mad. Yeah I hated you, but I didn%26#039;t see that then. I still think of you as my friend.”
“A friend?” I never knew what it was like to have a friend. What Aiyana said, gave my chest a pleasant feeling.
“Thank you Aiyana,” I said. “Really, I am sorry about your mother.”
“It%26#039;s okay. We should focus more on going to Grendel.”
“You%26#039;re right.”
The red haired woman arrived with a bag and a cup of Aiyana%26#039;s milkshake.
“Thank you.” said Aiyana, and handed the woman some copper coins. “Here%26#039;s your tip.”
The woman nodded and walked away.
“Lily, didn%26#039;t Isis say she had some things to take care of?”
“She did.”
“Well, she has been out for a while. Do you have a clue where she might be?”
“No.” It%26#039;s been fifteen minutes since Isis left. Aiyana wasn%26#039;t the only one who wondered where she was. I guessed like other cats she would go around as she pleased.
“Okay, anyway. I don%26#039;t have to remind you how to get to the city. But I can pick up some train schedules for you.”
“Okay,”
“But I don%26#039;t think you should head out right away.” Said Aiyana, taking a sip of her milkshake. “You need to prepare for your trip. You need money, clothes, a map and come food.”
“Do you have any money for all those?”
“Well, that%26#039;s one of the problems I was about to point out. I only have one silver left, which isn%26#039;t enough money for a train ticket.”
“Where are we going to get the money then?” I sighed.
“I don%26#039;t know, Lily,” said Aiyana. “I%26#039;m sure my mum has plenty of money, but I%26#039;m too young to access her bank account.”
“I guess my only option is the forest then,” I said and stood up.
“Wait, let%26#039;s not make that choice so quickly.” Aiyana grabbed my arm. “We%26#039;ll use what I have at home.”
“Are you insane?” I turned to Aiyana. “We have two dead people, and a bunch of useless cops investigating your house.”
“I know,” said Aiyana. “We%26#039;ll go there when the house is empty. They can%26#039;t stay there forever.”
“Good point,” I said, laughed and sat back down. “I think Isis may know what to do. Let%26#039;s wait for her to come back.”
“Right, but she can%26#039;t come in as a cat.” Aiyana placed her cup on the counter. “She can%26#039;t enter as a cat-girl either, especially in public.”
“I know,” I said. “She will inform us telepathically when she returns.”
Ten minutes passed, and Isis still hadn%26#039;t returned. Aiyana had her head down. She hadn%26#039;t finished her drink. For the past four minutes I had my eyes closed, watching two suspicious figures sitting at the table several feet behind me. Both of them were hooded and wore sunglasses. One of them had his hand stuck in his brown trench coat. Some strange feeling burned inside of me, telling me that these two were up to something. They were talking about something. Because of the loud noise from the other customers, it was difficult to figure out what they were saying.
“Remember what Pedro ordered us to do,” said the man on the right, talking in a southern accent.
“Yup,” said the man on the right. “Do you have any bullets? I lost mine.”
“Damn it, Number 15!” said the man on the left. “You%26#039;re so stupid. Whatever here. Just know what the plan is.”
“Alright number #13,” said #15, sticking the bullets into his trench coat. “What was the plan again?”
“Man, you ARE stupid. Just follow my lead, okay?”
What was the plan? What were they talking about? Were they going to kill someone? Start a robbery of some sort? I had to know.
“Lily, what%26#039;s wrong?” Aiyana looked at me. “Is everything all right?”
“Yes...fine,” Why did I say that? Should I tell Aiyana what I heard? I couldn%26#039;t help but become distracted by those two hooded men.
“You don%26#039;t seem okay,” said Aiyana.
“Don%26#039;t worry about me,” I said.
“Well, okay.”
One of the two men stood up with his hand still in his coat. Slowly, he pulled it out along with what he seemed to be concealing a black firearm. He%26#039;s going to kill somebody, but who? I waited to see who he%26#039;d be pointing the gun at. Slowly, he aimed it at us. But because of the distance, it was difficult to figure out who he intended to shoot. Not one person in the building, besides me seemed to notice the two men at all. After a few seconds, I peered into his mind. Searching around for the answer, I saw an image of the gun. Then a bag of money, and squirrels? No, what did he want? Who was he going to shoot? My answer came, and my heart began the beat violently and I nibbled at my lip when I saw the image of the freckle-face, red-haired girl with the purple framed glasses. The person he was going to shoot, Aiyana.
“Lily, I know something is wrong,” said the man’s target. “You%26#039;ve been having your eyes closed for five minutes. And you seemed very scared.”
There was a silent %26#039;pew%26#039;. I saw the round gold bullet heading for us in slow motion. As it came closer, it was heading towards Aiyana%26#039;s direction. I was right. I had no time to waste. There was no time to think about what to do. If I don%26#039;t act fast.
“Lily, tell me what%26#039;s wro-”
Without thinking, I shoved Aiyana backward. Her stool broke off. Her head landed onto the red tiled floor, while at the exact same moment, the bullet flew by and punctured its way into the the skull of a bald fat man. Blood spattered out from of the back of his head and landed onto the counter, nearly touching Aiyana%26#039;s milkshake.
“****!” said the man who pulled the gun.
“What are you? What%26#039;s going on?!” shouted Aiyana. “What did you push me for?”
“Look,” I pointed to the man who was shot, who stood for a good two seconds until he collapsed.
The crowd waiting in line for their meals, gave scared and confused looks when they noticed him fall.
“What%26#039;s going on? What happened?” said someone in the crowd.
“Someone call the police!” said a woman.
There were four gunshots, three men and a pregnant woman collapsed on the floor. Loud, earsplitting screams filled the restaurant. The crowd ran around in random directions, scurrying about like frightened ants. Because of that, finding the two shooters became extremely difficult. Some of the customers, crawled under tables. I looked down at Aiyana, who still sat on the floor, shaking as she mindlessly stared at four fallen bodies.
“Aiyana!” I called, but Aiyana did not respond.
“Get up!”
No response, she was still staring at them. Those men could strike again at any second. I had to make sure she was safe. I could let her escape through the front door, but it was full of frantic people trying to get out and she%26#039;d be easy to spot anyway. I had to have her jump behind the counter, with the crowd in the way, we shouldn%26#039;t be so easy to find either. I stood up and thrust my foot onto Aiyana%26#039;s back. She jumped, grabbing the area where she was hit.
“What-”
“Good,” I said, grabbing Aiyana%26#039;s arm. “Go behind the counter.”
“Why-”
“Don%26#039;t argue with me!” I shouted. “Do as I say!”
“Okay, I%26#039;m scared Lily.”
“Go, Hurry up!”
The frightened girl nodded, and leaped over the counter.
“Don%26#039;t move,” I said. “And keep your mouth shut. Don%26#039;t come out until I say.”
“Um... Okay.”
Aiyana should be safe there, as long as she kept her mouth shut. For the time being, I shouldn%26#039;t worry about her. Now I should be focused on the killers. They were no longer at the table, and they seemed to be camouflaged with the frightened group of people. I looked around, keeping a look out for them along with any suspicious or sudden movements. Wow, what a perfect time to leave the gun at home.
“You dumb ***, you shot the wrong kid!”
“Sorry, Number thirteen.”
The conversation came from under one of the tables, probably from the same row as the table where the two men sat earlier.
I sensed some movements from behind me. The image in my head was a man holding a huge knife. I turned around and he lunged at me. The knife headed toward me fast. The moment the tip of it was about to touch my face, I quickly tilted to the side and flung my left foot onto the man’s chest. He fell backward, losing grip of the knife, that flew into the air. I grabbed the knife by the handle, and lunged it into the man’s throat. He coughed. Blood sputtered from his mouth. He lied motionless on the ground with his eyes rolled up upward. I focused my attention on where the two men were.
Under the tables, were frightened customers. There was a very loud noise, and I followed the sound to the corner of the room. There sat a woman and a small baby, wrapped in pink blankets. The two men were also there, pointing their weapon at the woman.
“Please don’t kill me!” said a woman in the corner, holding her screaming infant.
“You got ten seconds to shut that thing up!” said one of the two men, pointing the gun at the baby.
“No, please!” The woman’s face became red, and tears rushed down her face. “Let me calm her down. You scared her.”
“Ten!” The man shouted.
He wouldn’t hurt a child, I thought. No one would.
“Please!” she grabbed the leg of the man’s trousers.
“Nine!”
“Don’t please,” she started sobbing. My mind and body boiled with fury. The b

The b

Chapter 1
Once, there was a girl named Lily. Lily wanted a dog or a bunny, but both her parents were allergic to both dogs and bunnies. Lily has two brothers and three sisters. Her siblings’ names were, Hermione, Samantha, Sydney, then Jake, and Garrett. Lily was eleven, turning twelve on July 12tth1995 at precisely 10:03am.
At 1:02pm on July 11th, one day until she turned twelve, Lily called her best friend Taylor, too see if she could come over to talk and play. Taylor’s mom said yes. Taylor lived right across the street so she could just walk across the street.
“Hey!” Taylor exclaimed. Lily replied, “What do you wanna do today?” “Idk, ttly” Taylor said back to Lily. “Well we could take a walk down the road to keep fit.” Lily suggested. “That’s a ttly good idea!” Taylor said.
“Mom, may Taylor and I take a walk down the road?” Lily asked her mom. “Sure, but make sure your back by sunset.” Lily’s mom replied. “But Mom!” Lily argued. “No buts Lily, it’s either you stay or you go. Until sunset only.” Mom said. Lily and Taylor took about two minutes thinking about it then Lily and Taylor said together, “Fine, we’ll go.” Then Lily walked out the door, as well as Taylor. “Bye!” Lily’s mom said as Lily and Taylor were half way on the driveway. Then Both girls said “Ditto.”
“Hey, what do you think I should do for the talent show this year?” Lily asked Taylor. “ I don’t know. Maybe we could do something together this year.” Taylor said. “ Yeah, maybe. So what should we do?” Lily asked Taylor.” Maybe we could…dance.” Lily said. “Now what should we dance to?” Taylor asked Lily. “We could try to make a dance up to Low, by Flo-rida.” Lily said.
“Yah” Taylor said.

Hey there. I%26#039;m glad that I%26#039;m not the only person out there who is trying to write a story. I%26#039;m happy that you are trying, at the very least.
Maybe you can take some of my advice? Is there a story plot behind this? I can%26#039;t really tell. Maybe you can make a prologue. There is one thing that really stood out to me: you don%26#039;t really have a wide sense of vocabulary. Try using more details in your story. Another thing you need to improve on are your sentence structures. A lot of your sentences begin with %26quot;then%26quot;. Sorry if I sound a bit mean....I%26#039;m not trying to. Try putting a glimpse of the story plot into your book.
I realize that my story isn%26#039;t that good either. I have an %26quot;okay%26quot; writing style, but like the people who commented said, I don%26#039;t have much of a story plot in that first chapter. But, I%26#039;m gonna keep trying. I hope you do too, because we all start out somewhere, right? Don%26#039;t give up, you can still make something out of this. I%26#039;m cheering for you! Good luck.
Reply:um, you might not want to use like email/aim abbreviations because that could confuse people. and make it a little more interesting
Reply:I would have to say no... it%26#039;s all over the place and it doesn%26#039;t flow... but don%26#039;t give up! Read some short stories... and continue writing... and think about who your reader is... because right now it sounds like your reader would be a 3rd grade girl.
Reply:idk the story has many dif. things going on and its a lil confusing. the story is called kittens, altough (i no its only ch. 1) but has nothing to do with them there is also something about lily%26#039;s bday but not much, try organinzing all your ideas before you throw them into a big mosh pit. its defs got a lot of potential
Reply:Yeah, it%26#039;s good so far, but try to avoid text language like %26quot;idk%26quot; and %26quot;ttly%26quot; when you%26#039;re writing, it%26#039;s bad English grammer.
Reply:Sorry, don%26#039;t like it. Nothing grabbed my attention or made it interesting
Reply:» The story had a horrible beginning. You just put all of the information about Lily in one paragraph. And DO NOT USE %26quot;idk%26quot; or %26quot;ttly%26quot;. I suggest you not continue.
EDIT: Don`t make the characters say boring things that you would hear everyday. Your readers would not want to hear that because that`s how they talk to their friends so it becomes predictable, which is never a good thing.
Take out the Flo-Rida song. Don`t tell them that. It`s unnecessary. Just tell them they are going to dance to something.
And what I said earlier, about cramping all the information in one paragraph, spread it out so the readers are learning about Lily throughout the story. For example, if there is a scene about Lily and her siblings later in the book, you can add that info. %26quot;Lily has two brothers and three sisters.%26quot; Also, describe their personality, physical traits. People tend to remember faces, not names. ESPECIALLY it`s over six people. Good luck with your writing.
EDIT2: By the way, don`t give specific dates. It`s boring. People don`t care. And also, try reading more books and see different styles of writing. By your first paragraph, I can probably guess you don`t read a lot of books for fun.
Reply:its alright because when you write a story most people wouldnt use idk or ttly. maybe you should use better english. The story line is thin and boring. The intro needs work. I think you should start over and get some help writing the stroy. Thats just my opinion.
Reply:lol ok.
Reply:idk
Reply:Um... no.
Reply:You might want to elaborate on some of your ideas, give a bit more background information. And I know it%26#039;s only chapter one, but the title seems kind of irrelevant. Last thing- change %26quot;has%26quot; to %26quot;had%26quot; in the third sentence (Lily had two brothers and three sisters.)
Other than that, it%26#039;s good. Keep writing :)
